* Nominate and notify 15 more bloggers

Honestly, I’m so new to blogging I didn’t know how this works at all. Thank goodness for instructions!

I’ve been nominated by Kez from K-in-Motion, so it’s really an honor since I always enjoy reading her blog!

Kez is an adventurer who has been wandering around the world. She’s something of a mystery to me, because she seems to be fearless and unstoppable! Every time I read her blog, I feel like I’m having an adventure as well, and I know that I wouldn’t have been able to do what she does.

She’s currently in Central Asia and boy did her posts open my mind! If you like to-the-point and off-the-beaten-path-travel blogs that provides you with the most practical tips, I suggest you give K-in-Motion a read. And subscribe so you don’t miss a post!

What Brought Me to Blogging

I’ve always wanted to have a blog because I love writing in my journal and a blog seems to be its natural extension. But I’ve started and given up on many blogs before this one because I didn’t think I’ve got something worth offering to the world.

To me, writing has always felt like an art that only the worthy can practice. I never felt like I’m good enough to write. This year, I found myself jobless and really anxious about getting a new job. So I created an excuse for myself – to work, really work on my blog and try to make a living out of it.

That said, even if it doesn’t work, I’ll still be blogging, because I realized how much I enjoy writing. And keeping a blog is a great way to get better at it.

Advice for New Bloggers

I’m a new blogger myself! Even though I started this blog last November, I only started to get serious about it in May. So I’ll just write about what I’ve experienced so far.

#1. You may experience some anxiety. To me, blogging is a full-time job! There’s always things to do, and things to learn. There’ll be anxiety about not knowing how to do something, or not having material for the next post. If you feel that way, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Give yourself time to learn. Hang in there, put in the work, google, or ask around, you’ll be fine!

#2. In addition, there’ll be days when you wonder why you’re doing this, and if you’re good enough to do this. Well, it’s your blog, you’re definitely good enough. Don’t make the mistake I made so many times before. Don’t let your critical voice talk you out of writing if you enjoy doing it. Improvement comes with practice. Be proud of your blog, and share it!

If you’re a new blogger, I wish you luck and do add me on twitter so we can root for each other!

  2. Congratulations on the award – I think your writing is really fab, so this is very well deserved. Also, I just wanted to say that I’m so so glad you conquered that critical voice you had about blogging and not being worthy because a) you definitely are but b) the amazing thing about writing is that literally anyone can do it – you don’t need expensive equipment, you can just do it and practise until you’re great (I mean, a computer is nice, but theoretically all you need is paper and a pen). Finally, I love the little descriptions you gave each one of your nominees – they’re so thoughtful, and they show that you really do care.

    1. Thank you for the lovely compliment and comment!

You’re right about writing being something anyone can do. That’s part of why I love it. Just pen and paper, or a computer – some even write on their phones. Yet a writer can conjure up entire universe! 🙂

Glad you love them! Writing those descriptions were pretty fun because all of you have such genuine voices and distinct focus.
